Binesikwe Beads

Paige Saunders is a mixed European/settler and Otipemisiwak beadwork artist. Her father’s family comes from Red River, Manitoba, Batoche, Duck Lake and Marcelin, Saskatchewan. She is a member of the Manitoba Métis Federation. She lives with her family in Oakville, Ontario, where her pieces are created.

Binesikwe translates to bird woman in Anishinaabemowin, given to her as a nickname by her Elder and Mishoomis, Miptoon (Tony) Chegahno. 

Binesikwe Beads is dedicated to creating handcrafted Indigenous jewelry that invites people of all backgrounds to connect with the culture, artistry, and story. Each piece is thoughtfully made using beads and natural materials, blending traditional influences with a modern, wearable style.

With every design, Binesikwe Beads aims to offer jewelry that feels meaningful; pieces that are not only beautiful to wear but also carry a sense of connection, respect, and community.
