Banks Dene Artistry

ɁEdlánet’e-a, sı sezı́ Pietra súlye, I am a Denesųłiné woman from the K’ai Tailé Dené (Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation), located within Treaty 8 territory. I currently reside within Treaty 6 & 7 territory. 

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved art; I enjoyed being able to create things at my own free will and tell a story or invoke emotion. Art, for me, has gone from little cards I’d make for my mom to photos I’d take for the yearbook, all the way to building various projects in my construction classes. These have all been safe and fulfilling outlets to channel my creativity. 

Within the last year, I began beading, and I fell in love with it. There is something so rewarding about creating a piece of jewelry that someone will wear or share with others. I started Banks Denesųłiné Artistry to share what I made and connect with others through art.
