The Salty Magpie

Taansii! Welcome to my little shop within a shop on the web! My name is Robyn Grant-Moran, aka The Salty Magpie. I'm the daughter of a Métis father (from Manitoba) and settler mother. I grew up in Nova Scotia but have resided in Toronto for over half my life. As a child, crafting and creating art was a way of life. Over the past decade, I have focused more intently on learning about traditional Métis beadwork. I find myself making jewelry and art informed by those traditions. It's my favourite way to connect with and honour my ancestors and the rich culture they created for me and celebrate contemporary life. Most everything I make is one of a kind, I do my best to not replicate any of my creations exactly so you never have to worry about seeing anyone with the exact same piece! Over the next little while, I will add some things and change my photos. As I do, I thank you for your patience, and hope you stay a moment, have a look around, and enjoy what you see!
