About This Piece

Turtle Island

In my community, we call our earth Turtle Island. It is believed in one of our creation stories that the Turtle carries the teachings and world on its back. The turtle represents wisdom, healing, protection, and health. I decided to incorporate these florals on the turtle's back to represent how beautiful the Turtle is for carrying us into this world. 

Only 100 prints of this design were made.

Note: this is a print, not an original painting. Frame NOT included. Each print has a 0.36-inch white border around the design in order to include the handwritten print #, title, and signature at the bottom. Each print is 12"x12".
